Could be the Immobilizer. It happens to alot of people including myself. Try putting the key in, turn it until the lights on the dash go off then start your engine. This allows enough time for the Immobilizer system to recognize the key(the green light will go off) and allow the fuel system to pressurize.

Water sound? Are you talking about the gurgling sound coming from the passenger foot area? Thats just the heater core gurgling from air being trapped in the cooling system. Its nothing to worry about.

I just had my car over a month and a half now. I have just less than 4k on it. The first week it had trouble starting. Well, not trouble starting, but it took several seconds before it started.
I figured out, it only happens in the cold. I've had this happen only 2 times so far, and both times, it was cold outside. The CCA on our batteries suck. I think its rated at 410 CCA (Cold Cranking Amps).
I think its normal for that to happen with our cars. I'm pretty sure if you get a battery with higher CCA it, this probably would not happen.

We might not be talking about the same thing, but I have trouble (turning over 5-7 seconds before starting) an hour after a short drive in hotter weather. I asked the dealer about it, and their explainaton was that the fuel rail has to prime itself in this time (the 5-7 seconds). They said the fuel rail can get very hot after a short drive, and the gas boils and evaportates?
