2001 Trunk Mat Problem
I have a 2001 honda civic EX sedan and I have my speaker box in the trunk but lately the wires have been pulling out because the carpet has been sliding out because the board above the spare tire is moving.......there are no clamps or anything holding it down. Any suggestions??????
The most likely problem is that your box is causing the carpet and board to move.
Glue the board to your carpet so its now a one piece mat.
The board should have 2 holes that goes over some plastic stuff. Once you glue the items together and make sure the 2 holes are in place, you shouldn't have too much trouble.
If you box keeps moving the one piece mat, I recommend a velcro strap/fastener to keep your box in place. There's also 1" thick nylon fasteners that you can buy. They look like the straps on your backpack.
Hope that helps.

hmmm...good idea...i should velcro my carpet to that trunk board thingy
btw, i hate how that trunk board keeps moving around....it moves around and scratches up the paint on the trunk. it's also freaking weak...we have this huge trunk to haul shiet around but that board wont support much weight. my board is bent because i had a small sub box on top of it...
also, i hate that fibre stuff under the board. it's creating a ton of dust in my trunk.

Use the old Cardboard piece of crap and trace it out on 3/4" Plywood
Then cut out the shape with a Jig saw Drill out the holes for the plastic tabs to come up through near the back of the trunk. (Near the latch)
Replace the weak board with the plywood.
Then use little "L" brackets and screw them to the plywood and the bottom of you Sub box. This keeps it in place and nothing slides or moves much at all.
This setup even survied a roll over. You can see the pics of my car in my gallery.
