trans / clutch problem

I have been having this problem on and off for a couple of months. When i shift into first and start to release the clutch i get a vibration like the cluch is slipping, and it sometimes happens in 2nd and 3rd. The thing is it will go away, and come back. I asked the dealer and they said its a common problems with s2000's. He said when you drive and switch gears at a higher rpm you end up glazing the clutch and created hot spots. So when you drive it has a hard time gripping on those spots. So if you drive nice it will wear away and it will stop. So i guess i believe that, but has anyone else had this problem or heard of this. I dont drive my car hard or race it. I mean sometimes i will shift at a higher rpm, but thats mainly because where i live there are a lot of mountains and i do a lot of high way driving. for example the on ramp near my house is up hill and i have to speed up it just to keep up with and merge into traffic.

Anyway what should i do should i bring the car to honda and have them change the clutch or leave it? Its under warrarty. Also do youthing something could be wrong with the transmissioin. It has been feeling kind of weird lately, i had a revo short throw in it for about 11 months and i just put the stock back in because this whole things has been scarying me. Plus it shifts are a lot smoother with the stock shifter.

Anyway thanks for your help, happy new year!!

I dont think your clutch plate is covered under warranty, as its a consumable part, kinda like brake pads and shoes. But if there is something else wrong with the system then it might be covered. Try doing what dealer recommends and if t doesnt get better take a closer look.

i have the same problem, when i drive it pretty hard i get a vibration in 1st 2nd and 3rd, but thats only when i drive it hard, it started doing it when i had my 17's but when i got my 18's on 225/40/18 tires, it got worse when i drove it hard, but if i take it easy on the clutch it goes away, weird how it works, but it works, time for a clutch upgrade.....
