i just disconnected the negative cable from the battery...

and reconnected it, but to no avail....
NOTHING! the friken light is still on!

i dont beleive that anything is wrong with my car, some people might say, take it anyways, but my fuel economy is great, no problems, car runs excellent.

i think im gonna go back to Honda durring lunch, and talk to a service GUY! and maybe reason with the guy....

if anyone can please spare me the trouble of driving 15 miles, and see what i could do to reset it!

remember, "malfunction indicator light"

thanks
kevin

Samari is an unknown quantity at this point
Just to make sure to reset. Take off the negitive side and the ecu fuse. also let it set for 30mins and then reconnect. if something is really wrong, your indicator will come right back on. It should be under your warrenty, i think they are full of crap. Mine came on and they checked it twice for free.

whooo i just got the same problem...i was practicing driving stick on my (sloped) driveway, and i felt the car start sputtering and about to stall. Then something weird happened like, the gauges looked like it stalled but i still heard the engine on for a second or two. Then the engine went off (stalled). Now the malfunction indicator light is on, i haven't refueled my engine yet since i just bought the car and it was still full, and i checked my oil level and everything so i'm gonna go reset my ECU and see if it comes back on...hopefully it doesn't. Thanks for the information on how to reset your ECU!

Lady was smoking some of the best stuff around, no doubt about it.

It takes 30 seconds to plug a OBDII reader into the car and 5 minutes to either read the code and diagnose its causes or 5 minutes to simply reset it if it was a driving error.

I do this everyday and I guarantee you that 325 dollars is a complete rip off. And it is covered under warranty unless you did something to damage the car, i.e. installed something like an air filter system and forgot to hook up something.
