strange exhaust problem
Hey guys,
A while back, I got a thermal rear section for my ride (direct bolt-on that replaces the stock muffler). From the first day I got it installed, the car has been acting different. If I'm cruising at constant speed around 20-40mph and I press the gas a little, the rpms drop and it feels like the car bogs. I didn't think much, cause pushing the gas harder makes it downshift fine. And when accelerating slowly, the tranny seems to stop accelerating at a certain point and shift into higher gear, even though I'm still pressing the gas. Is this normal? Thanks.

The dealer can't do much if the engine light doesn't come on. Basically the tech guy said he can drive the car around and see, but most likely they won't be able to do anything. I know the exhaust is doing something, cause I noticed it right after it was installed. I'm at the point now where I'm just gonna drive it until something really breaks.

Put your OEM back on and it should do the same thing. That way the dealer can't say its from your Thermal. If it does the same thing then the car should ve repaired under warranty. If it bogs like that then its prolly something with your fuel system. Installed a cat-back or axle back will not cause anything like that.
