Ok .. new problem . . lemme start by trying to explain what I'm talking about..
On my car. '01 LX. There are 3 buttons under the "storage pocket" on the headunit area of the dash board. The 3 buttons are for "re-circulate", "A/C", and "Rear Defog". These 3 buttons each have 2 ways of lighting up. They have an "on" light which is only on when the button is on. . They also have a dash light, which lights up the icons and is always on when your lights are on. Hopefully everyone is still with me....
Well I get into my car last night and start it up and turn the lights on like normal. . But. . the "re-circulate" and "A/C" dash lights aren't working (defog is fine). If I push the buttons the "on" lights work like normal, but for some reason the 2 dash lights aren't lit.
So as a typical dumb human I tap on it to see if anything happens. Well, they both turned on.. So I leave it, but later that night they did it again, both went out.
So. . since I had positive re-enforcement from them working the first time, I tapped them again. . This time nothing. . They wont come back on at all.
I'm not sure how to search for this problem .. Anyone else have it happen to them? Any ideas of what to do??

Ya` lose connection somewhere.
My old 90 Accord was wierd , sometimes the tach wouldn`t work , so I would pound on the dash and bingo it started working.
I never took it in for service, didn`t happen that often , but when it did a good swift "smack down" on the dash always used to do the trick !!
I`m not suggesting that you beat your car , if it happens alot i would let service take a look at it.

Obviously a loose connection or a problem with the ground wire. Happened to me. Did you replace your head unit? If so, maybe one of the wires got out of place upon install.
The best thing would be to let the dealer / service take a look at it , better safe than sorry. And where it happens all the time they should be able to find and fix the problem , well with no problem LOL
Best of luck

Thanks. . yes I did replace the head unit, but geez that's been over a year. . Anyways. . I'm getting ready to replace the head unit again, so I'll be in there digging around.. Hopefully I'll find the problem . . If not then I'll take it to Honda. .
