I recently discovered that I can't pull the trunk/gas cap popper up at all, it literally cant be forced up at all but opens the gas cap just fine when pushed down.. I'm sure the wire for it is fine and I unlocked the buttons of course.. what could be wrong?

check your trunk latch to see if the cable can be pulled easily...if not the problem must be up front where the lever is

Your problem is the lever area. You'd have to open the lever and fix the key ring. The trunk lock/unlock mechanism is screwed up. I took mine in to the dealer. It took them 45mins to fix.

you pulled it up too hard. when somebody smashed my window, he was trying to pop my trunk. He was yanking the **** out of it. but it was locked all he did was jam it. all you have to do is pull up on the plastic and it will all go back together. he didn't get anything because I had thta thing locked, and I caught him because my alarm went off.

You're pushing it down to hard when you open the gas door. If you ever have taken that panel off, you would see that that latch has one bolt attaching it to the car. if you press too hard down on it, it will rotate a little, and then the trim panel gets in the way when you try to pull it up. I have this happen everytime I take that panel off. If you stick you finger farther underneath and pivot the handle back up a bit, it will clear trim panel. just don't push so hard to open your gas door.
