Rep Power: 0 gx piston problems (removed them)
well, let me tell ya this... gx pistons kill other cars all the way through the power band (3000 to 6000 rpms... i did surprisingly well against som guys celica GTS even though he walked on me after 120 mph beating me 1 car length on a roll from 60. but the point is they also kill your car. i had to finally let them go... i sold them to my friend D for 150 each. he said he will try them with all the mods i mentioned like a blockguard, reground cams, p/p/3 angle vj, etc. well reason being my car was overheating and i even heard the coolant boiling. even worse. the check engine light is still on even though i have the original pistons back. help... now what do i do? when the check engine light is on, does that mean vtec isnt engaging?

Rep Power: 0 well to bad it didnt go smooth the way you wanted to be.you should have that check engine light checked and see what the problem is. it could be one of your sensors gone bad or just needs resetting cause of a different reading from your o2 sensor.

No, but seriously, can't you take the car to Honda and have them check out the Check Engine light?

1. take it to honda, grab a mechanic's code reader
2. plug it into the port just behind the front part of the center console (its around the gas pedal)
3. read out the codes. write them down if the problem jumps back up then u know why
4. get the honda computer to clear the engine codes off the ecm.
5. drive away and hope the light doesnt come back on
right after i had my clutch and flywheel installed, the light came on (within like 2 days). i went to honda and followed the steps above. my problem was that cylinders 2 and 3 were having multiple misfires. a brief discussion with the honda guys got me a few leads (fouled plug/coil, flywheel throwing off sensor, etc) you definately want to get the cel cleared off though. it puts the ecm in safe mode (mine was actually feeding the engine gas so that the revs would fall like the stock revs, and i have an 8.4 lb flywheel).
edit: oh and for anyone thats wondering, "resetting" the ecm by disconnecting the negative terminal DOES NOT WORK. the light might go away, but car will still be in safe mode. anyway, only way to make those codes leave is to get the honda computer thingy to delete them.

Rep Power: 0 wut if the cel goes off by itself...is the car still in safe mode...cuz my car kept on overheatin for a couple of days...and i finally took it to the mechanic...the thermostat was cool...everything was cool...but they found out that the radiator cap was not holdin the pressure..so we changed the cap..and the car stopped overheatin..however...after i filled up gas the cel lit up...and has been for the last couple of days..but recently today..it didnt come on...so im thinkin everything is cool..but im not sure
