My 2013 Honda Civic EX is experiencing some, well a heavy handful, of electrical issues. The steering wheel controls (volume, cruise control, menu, etc.) have stopped working, and even the horn has stopped functioning. I initially suspected the clock spring, which might still be the issue, as it's been about a year since these problems began. Around 9 months ago, I had to replace both the battery and alternator, and recently, after the car sat idle for about 6 months, the driver-side power window stopped working—though all the other windows still function fine. I checked the fuse, and it's not the issue. Lately, the system has been malfunctioning on its own, almost as if my hands are randomly pressing all the buttons at once. It switches between AM/FM and Bluetooth on its own, and the display acts like I'm pressing the steering wheel controls—almost like it's glitching. Interestingly, the menu that I haven't been able to use in over a year has popped up again, and the cruise control activated as well, showing on my dash. Another odd issue is that the volume keeps turning down by itself. I also had to remove the horn fuse because, the other day while reversing, the horn started blaring uncontrollably. None of these problems occurred before I left the car unused for six months. Lately, I’ve been getting warning messages on the display when starting the car, though not every time—one that has stuck is “Check Charging Conditions,” and the engine light sometimes comes on too. I know everything is interconnected electrically, and I’ve had the car for 10 years, but I’ve never seen anything like this in any vehicle, let alone mine. Plenty of people drive their cars for years without these types of issues. As soon as I can borrow a scanner to get the codes, I’ll do that, but has anyone else dealt with anything similar? Or know a possible underlying issue that is causing all these glitches and malfunctions to happen what seems like suddenly, and all at once? Please give me some insight. Thanks
