Question Multiple Elec. issues, spanning 7 years

Hi all,

First time posting, but I'm at the point where I'm not too sure what to do w/ my 2010 Civic. I bought it in 2013 as a certified pre-own, and have had electrical problems with it ever since:

- Battery dies if sitting in the car in accessory mode for ~5mins or less
- One time I was driving and my emergency brake light turned on and my car started making noises at me (like alert type noises). wasn't low on brake fluid. turned it off and let it sit for a while, no issues since.
- air conditioner turns on when it chooses to, although a majority of the time it just doesn't turn on at all (when it does, it blows hot air)
- occasionally dashboard lights start out as dim, and then eventually (usually) turn on to their full brightness
- rear window sometimes will not roll down

Those are just the ones that stick out in my mind... biggest ones obviously are the a/c and the battery dying in accessory mode... I just put a new rack & pinion and a power steering pump in it in June, and have had these issues long before. Pep boys tells me they're not sure what the a/c issue is, but want to start swapping parts out of it and I'm rather leery about throwing money into something when they're not really sure what the issue is... My thought is that it's some sort of overall electrical issue/short as well as an additional issue w/ the a/c blowing hot air. Has anyone had similar issues?

Thanks,

Gabby

Take it to the dealer where they will be much more familiar with the car, and hopefully have actual mechanics that know how to trouble shoot instead of firing the parts cannon. Ever had the battery tested?

I have an appointment today at the dealer. I have taken it before in regards to the battery dying in accessory mode, and was told "that's just how they're made these days". Not useful in the slightest. I've replaced the battery probably 3 times in the span I've had this car, and have always had that specific problem regardless of how far along the battery's life it was.

Yeah, that's not true. The dealer should be able to figure something out.
