I have a 2009 Honda Civic hybrid that recently got a check engine light on and a code that says NO where the miles should be. I took it into a local mechanic to get it diagnostic on what the problem possibly could be and after they checked the codes wipes them, test, drive it and then test it again there is no more codes. I was told that this could be an internal problem with the wires, and as I was going home from the mechanic the problem went away for about one minute and flickered right back. There’s no problems with my car whatsoever. As soon as this happened it is just frightening to see the check engine light on and not know what it is. I am very hesitant to go to my dealership for this yet just because of the fact that they have kind of screwed me over in the past. But I’m not opposed to it especially if it is a problem that I cannot actually fix. I have seen on multiple forums that Noe means that there’s no communications with the EC you and I was wondering if there is a wire that could be having a shoddy connection that’s creating this? if that’s the case, when the odometer flashed and flickered after going back to normal for a minute makes a little bit more sense
If the check engine light came on there should have been fault codes. Get them read, not just cleared. Auto parts stores will usually read them for free.
