Car Only starts when jumped. New battery and alternator. [solved]
Honda Civic 2015 EX Sedan (keyless entry)
I recently replaced my alternator and battery. My car has been sitting in a garage for a year while I was overseas. I replaced the battery and alternator as my battery was dead. the alternator was under charging it. When I jump the vehicle it starts and will drive. As soon as I turn it off and try to start it will immediately shut off. If I disconnect and reconnect the battery terminals it will go in to accessory mode. Once I press on the break and push the start it will instantly shut off. Does anyone know what I should check? My car currently has 28,000 miles and only really used it for about a year. Thank you.

Bad connection between the battery and the positive cable? Or a bad cell in the battery

The alternator is from Dura Last. I'll double check the connections. Just got the battery yesterday and still has voltage the normal voltage and CCAs.

Might wanna check if you have a parasitic drain somewhere. It's a tedious process, but doable. There are tons of youtube videos out there showing how to do it

In my brother's '14 Si occasionally when he presses the start button everything will die. He wiggles around the battery terminal cables and then it will fire right up. I wonder if you're seeing something similar. In his case the battery is clearly good since it starts right up after messing with the battery terminals (which are both tight).

You were right about the Battery connection. The Negative cable terminal had a V shaped notch on the bottom. Wasn't all the way on. That one little bolt really caused my car not to start....I was just about to take my car to a dealer ship and just thought to re tighten everything good.
