Rep Power: 0 2006 Battery, Alternator or Starter
Parked my 2006 Civic Ex in a lot. When I tried to start it after about an hour I just got rapid-fire clicking. Horn, radio, wipers, lights worked but engine didn't turn over. Called my insurance company road service. The guy jumped the battery. Started right away. He told me to turn off the engine and then restart after 10 seconds. Started up fine. He said, good news it's not the alternator. Said probably the battery. The car only has about 58,000 miles. The battery is not original but at least 9 years old. The original battery was defective and had it replaced under warranty. Car doesn't get much use but in NYC the winters are cold so imagine a little used battery can suffer under these conditions. Just started up the car after idle for about 6 hours. Will bring it in to a service place this week and ask for a diagnosis. What would the likely solution be? Thanks.

Definitely throw a battery in it, they're fairly cheap and like you said it's at least 9 years old, batteries don't last as long as they used to.
Make sure your connections are clean and tight when you change the battery
