Key fobs won't open trunk 2006 Ex
Hi guys
I bought a Honda Civic 2006 Ex and I released the trunk release button on my key fob don't work(got only one master key ) the door lock and unlock buttons do work.
However I can use the trunk release inside the cabin and it opens it.
When I press and hold ( 3-6 sec )the trunk release button on the fob the red light on the fob appears and disappears ( which means the fob is working )
Can you please help me before I take to the dealer/mechanic.

@craigW , thank you for your respond. I did what you said but I couldn't hear any clicking noise under the dash when I press the trunk release button.
I'm pretty sure the 2006 EX DOES come with trunk release from the fob.

Have you checked if the trunk release solenoid is just unplugged from the latch on the trunk lid?

OK, this what i found out , my 2006 ex is missing the trunk actuator. This is so weird !!
my EX MODEL has got all the other components for an EX model but not the trunk release actuator.
unless someone has done some mods in the past but I can't see any thing odd, everything looks factory under the trunk lid.

The vin number on the trunk matches the VIN NUMBER ON the car.

I have a 2006 Civic EX, the only sound you will hear when activating the key fob trunk release will come from the trunk latch. If you have an EX model but no actuator, check to see if there is a wire
connector where the actuator would connect to.
If there is a connector, you can buy an actuator off eBay or other suppliers.
