Shop said ABS light would go off in a week

I just had a front wheel bearing done on my 8th gen civic. When I got it back the ABS light was on. The mechanic said that it would go off on its own within a week. Why would it just start working on its own?

The system takes time to recalibrate itself

Can also check if the sensor is plugged in all the way
