Question about Suspension for 2015 Civic
Question about Suspension for 2015 Civic
I have a 2015 Honda Civic SE CVT in the USA with about 150k on it and owned it since new.
I was hearing some clunking noises and my mechanic said I need the following:
-Rear Struts
-Front and Rear Sway Bar Links
He mentioned that if I get the rear struts from honda that they dont have a rear strut assembly and that he would have to get them pressed which would be additional money. Instead of getting aftermarket parts, I wanted to get original honda parts as I hear those are better quality. I was doing some research and it seems to me that for the rear of my car has rear shock absorbers, not rear struts so I would only need to replace the rear shock absorber? Do I replace the spring as well?
Do the Honda rear suspension components go bad at this kind of mileage? I live in the midwest.
I do know some things about cars but not alot so would appreciate the help.
Also should I replace the Belt Tensioner for the Serpentine Belt? Do those go bad?

Re: Question about Suspension for 2015 Civic
struts, shocks, dampers, they are all doing the same. Just that people calls them all struts, even if they are not structural. Don't overthink on this.
150k...
usually they can go bad around 30 k to 60k miles... maybeee longer for newer cars. they start riding worse.
