Unusual Front Wheel Bearing Sound
Unusual Front Wheel Bearing Sound
Greetings,
2015 Honda Civic EX-L
Original owner, currently 111,000 miles.
Well maintained
I have a sound coming from the front driver-side wheel hub area. It sounds like bad front brakes, so I had the front brakes professionally replaced at 110,000 miles. I had both the front pads & rotors replaced on both sides. The vehicle handled much smoother at highway speeds after the work, but the sound persisted. Could it be a bad front wheel bearing? The sound is not really consistent from my experiences with bad wheel bearings. The only thing currently wrong with the car that I am aware of is a slightly leaky CV boot on the driver side. Sound does not go away with a tire rotation. I have attached a video of the sound! Thanks for taking a look.

Re: Unusual Front Wheel Bearing Sound
If the bearing is bad you will hear it if you Jack the car up and spin the wheel. Grab the wheel and push it in and out (in on left side out on right) and see if it has any slop.
