2012 Can't move from Park to Drive/Reverse (Intermittent)
Hello
Sometimes my Civic won't allow me to switch from Park to Drive/Reverse (automatic transmission) and vice versa. The "thumb" button won't push in. After a while, it will work again. It also appears if I rev the engine a bit, it helps.....but maybe just lucky.
Any thoughts as to why this is happening? My fear is I will be stuck one day unable to change the transmission.
Thanks,

There should be a little override thing hidden on the shifter console to take the car out of park without needing the key. Check the owners manual. Either the button is sticky, or maybe its not always getting a good signal from the brake switch, or the little solenoid is getting sticky.
