How often to replace trans filter on '14 Civic LX?

How often to replace trans filter on '14 Civic LX?
How often should I replace the trans filter on my 2014 Civic LX? Is it necessary? I have 165,000 miles.
Today I discovered the trans fluid rubber fill plug popped off from excessive pressure in the trans. I don't know how long it was removed. I re-installed it and unclogged the black rubber cap vent tube. I'm now concerned that excessive debris entered through the oil fill opening while it was left open and maybe I should replace the filter. I am planning on replacing the trans fluid as well. I have never replaced the trans fluid before.
