Transmission fluid cap

2014 Civic 1.8L engine with CVT. The cap covering the CVT fluid hole keeps coming off.

1) Why does it do this?
2) What can be done to keep this from happening?

Re: Transmission fluid cap

The transmission needs to vent, if it can't it will build up pressure and the cap will pop off. check the vent is clear

Re: Transmission fluid cap

Should be a black rubber cap on top of the transmission somewhere.

I found it, it's on top of the transmission just under the thermostat housing. It's kind of hidden lol
