What is this part?!?

My beloved Civic 2008 with 57k miles crashed...

It was a frontal crash on the driver's side (left).

I posted 3 pics: front, engine bay from the top and bottom of the engine bay after battery was removed.

The battery was crushed and leaked. I changed it and it still wouldn't crank/start.

I dug a little deeper and found two metal cilinders with wire connections that broke with the impact (see last pic); they belong to the same part and it should be easy to replace it. I just don't know what it is!!!!!

The engine proper has not been impacted at all. The radiator is shot but I wouldn't expect it would prevent the car to start (could be wrong).

My main concern at this point is the frame (?). Please see pic below with a red arrow.
See the RED ARROW? Is this part replaceable? It seems soldered...

That's probably a write off.
the cylinders in the last photo are shift solenoids

Thank you, @Colin42 .

It looks relatively easy to replace (if I can get a used part in the car part lot).

Would broken shift solenoids keep the car from cranking/starting?

Re: What is this part?!?

The air bags didn’t deploy?

I’d expect it to start with broken shift solenoids but there might be an electrical short or something. Get a scan tool and scan it for any codes of sensors that might not be working.

Re: What is this part?!?

Thanks.

The frontal air bag *did* deploy. Would it be enough for the car not to start? I wouldn't expect so but it's just a guess.

Re: What is this part?!?

Ohh yeah that could do it. Usually considered a loss if air bags deploy. Expensive to get that stuff straight.
