Loss of mileage

I did my own oil change. I noticed the new filter was smaller than the last one previously installed. Ever since then I lost about 3 mpg. Is it because the filter from the shop was bigger?

Re: Loss of mileage

No. Such little loss can be attributed to a variety of things ie environment, driving habits, etc. Probably nothing wrong.

Re: Loss of mileage

There's like 4 different size oil filters that fit Hondas. Probably just a bad tank of gas

Re: Loss of mileage

oh, my bad, you mentioned 3 MPG drop at the start... old eyes tricking me...
never heard of filter size affecting mileage.

there are two engines for the car, one for the 1.8 and one for the 2.0.
