IAT Sensor
IAT Sensor
Hi,
Apologies if this post is in the wrong place, I did look in the other threads but couldn't find anything.
Basically I need to replace the IAT sensor on my 2006 2.2TDI Civic but the garage have told me to only buy the part from Honda, and not from eBay etc. (so not a Hitachi etc.) as they say it won't work. I trust the garage as they've always been really good but I'm interested in knowing if anyone else agrees with this?
Thanks, WB001.

Re: IAT Sensor
Hondas play much nicer with OEM sensors. Seems too many instances of premature sensor failure and/or the issue not being fixed when people use 3rd party sensors

Re: IAT Sensor
Counterfeit parts are a huge problem.
Cheap low quality parts are a huge problem.
Buying from a reputable Honda dealer eliminates those problems.
Usually.

Re: IAT Sensor
Thanks both, it’s just that the Honda genuine part is around 5 times the price - I don’t understand why people sell these parts in particular if they don’t work. Just wish there was a cheaper option as I only bought the car two weeks ago and this happened within a week (guess there’s no controlling that).
I can’t seem to find a genuine Honda part on sale either, so it’ll be the full price £250/300 then. So expensive for what it is.
Thanks for your help.
