Unhappy Honda civic 8th gen rough idle / overheating / maybe leaking turbo

So i noticed about a week or two ago that my civic was rough idling, i noticed months before but only rough idles when the car is shut off but the turbo timmer is keep it on.

Now im noticing smoke from the exhaust, I drove from work like i usually do going fast, got home in about 8 minutes on 90F degree day. Still noticing smoke problems, mostly right after a fat turbo, or after breaking, harder i break more exhaust white smoke.
was thinking okay engine has 90k turbo has 75k probably a bad seal in the turbo.

When i got home i opened the hood to check for any oil leaks near the turbo, since driveway is covered in oil by last car, nothing but i noticed smoke coming from specifically from the air inlet the piece connected to the turbo.
Also decided to check oil while hood was open because i did a change about 1,000-1,500 miles ago. noticed lower then usual on oil and oil stick was smokin hot and steam was coming from the oil itself.

perhaps is there something wrong with the coolant where my engines overheating and not the turbo? whats your guy's thoughts on this

Specs:
2009 civic 8th gen 4 door, automatic 1.8L
TSI turbo kit / Garret G25 turbo
90k miles, 75k since kit was added.
mangaflow 2.5m exhaust system if that matters.

Sounds like your rings are fried to me.

Do a dry/wet compression check to confirm. Turbo’s probably overheating because it isn’t getting enough oil.

Hoping not the block a lot of people are telling me R18's are prone to cracking since thin casing plus extra boost doesnt slow that process down, however coolant levels remain the same.

I'll probably drop it off to the shop then for compression.

was googling over heating problems, found potential water pump or maybe even a thermostat. But wouldn't my oil temp not read normal if that was funky. It's weird my engine is hot after a short drive but oil temp reads fine everytime.

also thinking about it, could my radiator be clogged or something?

Do 8th gens have oil temp sensors? I thought it was only coolant. It’ll run HOT if low on oil. Oil's designed to cool the engine as well as lubricate. If there's no oil, the engine obviously won't be as cool. There's certainly the possibility of a cracked block, though I'd think it would leak when parked.

Edit: 8th, not 9th

Gotcha, yeah im a little worried for my car, no leaks rn, but somewhere oil is being burned, I notice turbo cooking oils or sizzling sound from turbo after shut down if i open the hood since not super noticeable.
so i guess rn

and yeah if your temp guage on your car is coolant not oil, i always thought your dash temp guage was for oil x) maybe im dumb haha.
then the red oil guage near check engine would that be for oil pressure then nothing to do with temp?

1. do compression test after work
2. I added oil since it was low, but i just did a change not to long ago and added 4 quarts so not sure why its missing so much.
3. coolant seems like some went missing, probably since cars running super hot it consumed some. will add more just to make sure pressure is right for that too. still above min line, radiator still neon/lime/gooey green color and full, not brown sludge so i wouldnt think the lines are clogged? maybe air got into them and needs reburp? but not super "expert" on cars more just basic.
4. repair tempature gauages, however no check engine light so does that mean nothing is wrong?
5. maybe ECU glitch or bad tune???
6. is there a way for OB II to read me oil temps, coolant temps, fans? can it run car statistics or diagnose, where someone can say like somethings wrong with your oil threads, your pressure is way to low to cool that turbo.

hoping for the best since i just bought this car 15,000 miles ago, would be a shame if i fried out the parts driving like a normal adult in his 20's x) haha, maybe few car meets at midnight.
i do appreciate your help and insight tho <3 thanks alot!

If you're taking it to a shop anyway, they could probably check temps for you. The red oil light is when you're low on oil. That means stop the damn car and don't drive until you add more. The engine will always sizzle a little bit, so I wouldn't be worried about that.

What colour's the smoke? Blue is oil and white is coolant.

You should've had it tuned when you bought it (it sounds like you didn't). Never trust the person you bought it from. That's the most important thing when buying a project car. That's actually the main reason you don't buy someone else's project car (especially one where an aftermarket turbo is involved).

Yep, well knew the risk not building it from scratch. 75k odometer taunted me about it tho. What could go wrong so early? *didn't knock on wood*

Only issue I had doing this was didnt wanna buy a $2,000 car with **** motor like lets say 98 honda, but the previous owner didn't keep everything updated every 50k miles then i bought the 4k turb kit and then the rims, exhaust system, swaybars, suspension, then pay like idk 2-3k in labor i assume since that sounds like a good 2-3 day project potentially.
so paying to get all of that for 70% off is the risk i take.

pretty sure smoke is white, my windows are tinted so hard to keep an eye on that. Has oil/gas burn smell but hard to say since cat delete adds so much fuel smell not to mention 410cc as well.
Ended up starting with the turbo rebuild first, just because i had lag 2-3 weeks before, then oil lose week ago, now smoke.

Since the hondata was in it, figured all the parts were tuned already to the car, so didn't bother yet until I add or swap couple parts out.

and update, since driving it to turbo shop, i noticed cold start up, a lot of smoke, once warmed up little smoke, sometimes none,
Hard breaks or obvisouly hitting turbos can aggeitate how much will come out. otherwise drives pretty normally.

I was told 3 pounds of boost, gauage went to 12 PSI, not sure if that means 12 pounds was on i assume.
