2008 HCH starting weirdness
I've got a 2008 Honda Civic Hybrid that just began having a weird issue with starting up. It only does this after the car has been sitting overnight pretty much. That's what I've noticed anyway. When I turn the key, all the lights come on like normal, but the car doesn't start. Usually I just turn and release it and it's started. Now it doesn't do anything. Silence. I turn it again and it does the same thing. After three or four turns it'll start after I give it some gas (which I never do normally). After it starts, no issues. Runs great. Battery seems charged. Lights, radio, fans, etc., all work. Since it is a hybrid, and I'm no expert on them, I know there is a back-up starter on the transaxle, but I'm pretty sure it's not the one kicking in when it finally decides to start. I've got some guesses as to what it might be, but they're only guesses. I'm hoping someone out there actually knows about these vehicles and can point me in the right direction. I've read through many threads and can't find anyone who has had this exact issue. Help!
