Check emissions // error code reads replace gas cap
Hi! I bought my 2012 civic a year ago, and 3 days after I drove off lot my emissions light came on. I was very upset. However a little relieved that when I took it to auto zone they said it was just my gas cap that needed to be replaced. So I did so. They turned off the light and I drove for another 2 days and it came back on again! It’s now a year later & I would like this light gone for good now. I kinda feel like it might be affecting Gas mileage since I’m always in blue on my speed limit dash. Not sure. Please help!

This happened with one of my cars, too. Turns out I simply wasn't sealing the gas cap properly. The mechanic told me I should turn it until I hear it click three times at least. Once I started doing that, the light never came on again.
