Hey guys, I'm trying to figure out why my girlfriends car shakes so badly if it doesn't start up right away. Her car usually starts pretty fast, or normal at least (within a sec or two). But I can hear it choking when it has trouble and I'm pretty sure that's where the shaking comes from. I guess it does it a lot, bc I've only been in her car maybe a half dozen times and 3 of those it took her at least twice to start it (our 2nd or 3rd date it took 3 tries,!). The thing is, she has push button start, so it tries to start for an extremely long time, like it's programmed. When I first heard this happen to her, she was leaving school, we weren't dating yet and I remember thinking she's destroying her poor car. So the next day I tried telling her not to turn the key so long each time and she told me about her start button. I swear it tries for waaaaay to long each time she presses start though. I've definitely never cranked a car for longer than a few secs, even if it's not starting, so it felt so wrong to hear it stutter and choke for like 20secs and not even start! Its so bad when this happens because people look at us as soon as her car stutters a couple times, it's like a reflex, especially hearing it. But it's the shaking I worry about, she says it didn't used to shake this rough. Is she destroying her car like I told her?

Ha we've been together since Feb and initially it didn't bug me at all. The 2nd or 3rd time it did it when she drove somewhere her car sounded really pathetic and just kept stuttering/shaking. That was the first time I felt it shake like that sitting in the car when it happened

Been on way more than three dates though
