Hi. I yesterday bought a honda civic 2007 and the car is making a whinning sound and overheating but the temperature meter is not showing much signs of heat . rises a bit at times and often due to heat the ac of the car cuts off automatically .along with all this the mileage is low as well maybe due to overheating i suppose ? Very upset need urgent help

Sounds like you bought a bad car.

Could be lots of things are you able to troubleshoot yourself? Take it somewhere. Depending on how much it overheated you might need lots of work done now!!

​​​​​​I went for a check up .. The bearings are making the whining sound but i am clueless why is it heating .The scanner shows the airconditioner is working fine . Rest i read somewhere that i could be a faulty water pump bearing ?
Should i get the car scanned from a dealer nearby ?

I have consulted a mechanic and they told me the whinning sound is from the bearings . they will check that tomorrow. I was thinking could it be the water pump bearing making sound and pump malfunctioning . He recommend me to get the car scanned at the authorised honda dealership
