P2185 engine temp sensor 2

Hi
I've got a 2008 2.2 diesel model

I've had this code come up. The diagostic machine is showing a temp of 149 degrees Celcius all the time so the fans stay on permanently. I disconnected the sensor and it still shows at this temp. The wires and connector isn't corroded. Getting live to it also. Please help!!

Which coolant temp sensor did you disconnect?
Over here (N.A.) I would be checking the temp sensor in the bottom of the radiator, not the one on the engine

When I disconnect a temp sensor, I expect to the engine computer show a value of -40*

Hi, I disconnected engine block and it went to -40 then I disconnected the sensor 2 in the radiator and that didn't drop at all. Stayed at 149*

I'd suspect the signal wire for that sensor is shorted to ground (earth) somewhere between the sensor and computer

I'll have a look now and check the wire to the ECU!
