I just bought this car 4 days ago. The first 2 days it was fine. Yesterday and today, a clicking noise that seems to get louder the more gas I give it but it does not click once I'm over 25 - 30 mph. Clicking was random when just idle but became consistent the longer I drove around for my job. I tried to research threads already but I know NOTHING about cars so my efforts were rather useless.

I took it to a mechanic I have used for a couple of years and he said it sounds like my lifters. I just want a second opinion from Honda owners and mechanics since my guy is a "neighborhood mechanic."

Additional history on vehicle: Prior salvage title due to an accident 1/10. CarFax lists a mulitple vehile accident and that my car ended up on it's roof.

I purchased from a private party who purchased it from a dealer last Fall. He said the dealer told him that the Prior Salvage title was due to bumpers. He did not see a Carfax prior to purchase. He's a young guy and wasn't satisfied with the lack of power/speed this one had so purchased another vehicle and needed to sell this one.

Any guidance would be greatly appreciated because I really do not have a lot of additional funds to be doing repairs. Thanks.

Basically you need a valve clearance adjustment by the sounds of it. It's a simple procedure and there is even a DIY on this site for it if you wish to tackle it yourself. It should make the noise go away.

Ahh I just realized yours is a 2007... so the DIY here might not help you all that much. ( Guess I misread the title ). A valve clearance adjustment will still help you.
