Industrial Acetone (powerful nail polish remover) Friend of mine had Chrome tips on his Trans Am... they surface rusted and tarnished all the time. He wiped them off with this crap and it took it right off.

I use mothers chrome polish, but here lately it makes it shiney but it won't take some of the dingy looking stuff off.
