Cleaning Mufflers

Im a perfectionist when it comes to cleaning and detailing my car. I have the Tanabe exhaust and was looking out there to find a way to keep that mirror like shine to it. Any ideas on how to accomplish this. Rim cleaner perhaps?

Belive it or not, if you go to a local hardware store and get some stainless steel polish/cleaner for kitchen sinks it works very well. It will remove some residue and make the surface much more shiny. It comes in a bottle and its a liquid.

Yes the stuff I used is a liquid stainless steel polish for kithchen sinks. It will remove any tough built up dirt and grime and make the stainless look better than new and very shiny. You can check any hardware store for a similar product.

I use this stuff called "BLUE MAGIC" it is sold at most pepboys and your local K-mart. Its tough on all metals, chrome, alloy, 304 stainless steel, etc... It keeps it shiny while maintaining its shine w/ a glossy protective coat. Works great!

i use my wheel cleaner, generally i use an all wheel cleaner.

i just spray a bunch on wherever you see of the muffler, take my wheel brush and scrub all the areas you see, let it sit for a minute or two, then hose off, easy!

Mothers makes a mag polish that my dad uses on the mags on his 69 Mustang and I used it on my OBX exhaust and it shined it up like new. I would recommend it.

if you have stuff stuck or burnt on there you can also use acetone to take it off.
