Sup guys, I am trying to figure out how to remove paint that appears to have rubbed off of another car. I tried searching and found no similar situations to this one. Would a clay bar work, or should I try some bug and tar remover? I want something that is non abrasive and won't damage my clear coat.
I would try some clay first and see how that works. Might want to try some polish also. Sometimes scratching it off with your fingernail works too. If all else fails you will probably have to use some rubbing compound. Just make sure you wax that spot once you are done. I wouldn't worry too much about the clear coat. As long as you keep your car waxed you'll be good to go.
Yeah, I would have scratched it off w/my fingernail but I didn't want to scratch it to shyt.
You can try clear coat compatible compound. You should try polishing compound first, if that isnt strong enough then use rubbing compound. After you remove the paint go over the spot with wax.
rubbing compound is good, try those from 3M
