Waxing Applications & Towels...
I was going to do the Meguire's 3-step polish & wax...and my question is what type of towels/applicators to use? Will regular terry cloth towels do, or do I need something softer (like the dust free ones)? Also, do i need to use different types of towels for the different steps? Sorry, this' my first time waxing a new car in which scratches and swirl marks would actually matter, don't want to mess it up!

The foam applicators are good enuff for putting the wax on...Meguiar's sells like a 2-pack of em for $2 @ Walmart...as for the towels, make sure they are 100% cotton terry cloth, anything less will scratch...for that extra dust-free touch, use a microfiber towel (found in most auto stores near detailing section) to get off all the residue and fingerprints off...I find that Meguiar's Final Inspection spray does the best for removing residue...

Ok, I ended up getting Zymol just because I didn't feel like doing the MeGuiar's Gold liquid wax and having to redo it in a month...and I got the 100% cotton terry cloth towels and some lint free ones...now, my question is about the Zymol...it says to buff it out before it dries...most waxes I've used you let dry, then buff off...so how long after I apply it should I wipe it off...I know it says to do like a 2x2 area, so I put it on (back & forth motion) and then just wipe it off (using the same back & forth motion) right?

I've used Zymol before...Works great
I did one panel at a time...direction isn't a huge deal (just use a little Zymol and don't push hard)...Since it is a Cleaner / Wax, if your pushing hard you could "swirl"...(that is if your doing it by hand)
I go over that panels quickly so that removal is easy...When I'm done, I hit them again and finish up with Final Inspection spray...
I COULD GO ON AND ON ABOUT DETAILING AND TIPS BUT SOME I LIKE TO KEEP SECRET

Well, I went ahead and used Zymol, one coat...turned out great! The only complaint I had is that it seemed a little greasy in spots; I guess I might've just layed it on a little thick there...it's kinda hard to control out of the bottle, and it didn't seem to cover much area when I just put a little on...the bottle says to lightly mist the car with cold, clean water and wipe it down to "set" the wax...that worked like a charm!!
Really helped to blend it together...overall, I give it an 8 out of 10...it took like 3.5 hours for the whole car, but I took my time, didn't rush it...I'll post pics later...thanks for the help!

I just used the Zymol stuff today, and you guys were right, worked like a charm. All I had to do was run over with the Final Inspection just to get the greasy parts off...but looks and feels smooth!
I also have to add, that after looking at how shiny and nice my car looked, I may have found a replacement for Meguiar's!! I mean, in the summer when it is nicer and I have more time, I will probably still do the 3 step, but for now Zymol works wonders!!!
