Hey I got nicked in my back bumper by another car (of course it happened when I was parked) but there are a few small marks. Some people huh...Faded white on my black car along with some scrapes which I think go through my clear coat, but not all the way through my paint. Is there a way to buff this out by hand? I was thinking about using some polish and then cleaner wax, followed by some regular wax. Any suggestions???

Rep Power: 372 You can try using rubbing compound. Make sure that it is clear coat compatible, or it will scratch the paint. After you get out the marks go over the spot with wax.

Rep Power: 391 heya - the exact same thing happened to me - total hit n' run - didn't notice it until I washed my car (but didn't wax it) and all the sudden something didn't shine the same as the rest!
Anyways... I waxed over it recently... it's still there - but very VERY hard to see - and im pretty convinced no one will see if unless they know its there... I used meguiars 3 step.

Rep Power: 0 I had a similar situation...I dropped somthing on the bumper and it left a nice cuff mark...so I began to rub it off only to see tons upon tons of marks...does that rubbing compound work??? I gotta try that...
