Quick question about clay bars and paint cleaners..
ok well i have a 2004 EM2 and i put the 3 step wax protection on it last october, (for the winter) and now i want to do it again, but first i want to take off the old stuff first, now can i use the step 1 paint cleaner? or do i have to get the california gold clar bar??? also whats a better clay bar if thier is one...and im planning on using the Meguiars 3 step wax protection, any input would be appreciated, thanks!!
I've always used Meguiar's clay bar.
I would think that using a Step1, paint cleaner, would do the trick for you - but clay barring doesn't hurt, and man does it look sexy after
What does the back of the Step 1 say? If it's used to remove swirl marks, and blemishes, then I think it would suffice to strip away the old stuff.
Hope it helps

thanks for the reply, and the back of the bottle says
"Removes Oxidation, Scratches and Swirls...." so use it and no need for clay??
