Help, how do I get rid of hard water spots?

I was washing my car today and I realized that the are hard water spots on the front and rear window, same with the hood and trunk. My question is how do I get rid of them? I tried like windex for the windows but that didn't work. I dont even know where to begin for the paint. Please Help!

I used to have the same problem. Nothing ever took the spots off the windows. CLR seemed to work somewhat. As for the paint, they will have to be buffed out.
