Cleaning your exhaust manifold heat shield!

I took it upon myself today and cleaned up the car real good. I raised the car up and polished the exhaust then popped the hood sprayed it down with Simple Green and hosed it all out then did a detail. Now my issue is the heat sheat covering the exhaust manifold. It had rust spots and was gross looking. So I grabbed the drill with a wire bristle attachment and went to town on the whole thing cleaning it off. Then went to the store and got some VHT heat resistant paint. Here are before and after pics.

Before (you can see the manifold in the bottom of the picture)

Looks great! Another thing to try is to sand it down, clean it, then polish it with a metal polish. This takes some time and effort, and its better if you have a dremel. Then it will shine like your AEM intake does. Either way, great job.
