Rep Power: 372 Yes windex can strip the wax. If there is no wax on the car then it will dull the paint. If you want to remove something from the paint without washing it then pick up a detailing spray from your local auto parts store.
Meguries, Mothers, and eagle one are just some examples of companies that make them.

Rep Power: 0 Pretty much any adhesive contains alcohol and will take the wax off. Even glass cleaner. As long as you can wax it right away you dont have anything to worry about.

Actually, some dealers will spray a new car down with windex and then send it through the wash. It makes the car shine like it was just waxed. I learned this from a friend that works for a dealership.
