I work at a car place and I detail cars. I wash my 02 Civic every few days. Some people say that all that washing is bad for the paint, but theres no way I'll drive a dirty car. The soap I use also has a wax base to it so I figure it wont do any harm. Could too much washing hurt it?

I'd say the best people to ask would be those who have worked in that shop for a long time and know about that kinda stuff. Unless you're using some kind of soap which you shouldn't be using on your car, I couldn't see how you'd damage your car... Unless you're doing the swirly thing... I guess I can see how one could damage their paint by washing too much, but if they are its just shortening the inevitable coz they don't know proper car care!

You can wash your car as often as you like. But I suggest that wash your car with soap once a week then the rest just pure water

you can't wash with pure water thats even worst. water has no lubrucating properties and if you wash with a unlathered mitt your threatening to scratch your paint.

well that's the way our family wash our car. We never had an oxidized paint and a scratch paint we use terry cloth. And we make sure we wet the whole car first then while holding the hose with running water we wipe the whole car then we dry the whole car using chamois. It work in our car. We have 12 years old 1989 corolla silver and the paint is still in good condition. never repainted all original sometimes mistaken it as brand new car. Well my dad teach me how to wash my car his dad teach him how to was his car its like a family tradition that we always tried to avoid car shampoo or they only hurt your paint because of its unknown substance. Well we have alot of family secret how to maintain our car but that's all I can tell you right now. It works on our family it maybe work for you too aight

I say you are fine to wash your car as much as you like. If you wassh your car 2 or 3 times a week and you also wax it every other week, you should be fine. I am a detailer.....So if you need anything...go ahead and ask.

Not the new look Civic but the Hot Wheels 1/18 scale Civic is great. If anyone wants to see it just go to ebay and search for civic under the diecast car menu.

The hot wheels version is a 2000 si. I dont think they will release a model of our car. The prolly will release a civic si hatch or a RSX first.

We just put them that way for the picture. The only way the civic can get run over is when the battery dies. None of my friend cars or trucks can keep up with it. It really moves...My friends truck(in the picture) is dual motored and AWD too. It must be too heavy. My car is very light. Chassis is all plastic, and the body is lexan...Car does around 30 mph.

Yeah I wash it in the winter with water and soap wash cause the brush will scratch my paint and then use a wet shine to clean it and shine like a wax.

To wash your car 2wice a week is fine. However I dont see the point in waxing it every few weeks. As much as you wash it, you will be washing the wax right off the paint. Meguiars recommends 4 to 5 times a year. THATS IT. Waxing is not necessarly bad for your car but too much is overkill. I have been using Meguiars for over 3 years and have had nothing but compliments on the shine and sheer look of the paint on my cars. I owned an 86 Shelby Daytona Z, an 82 Volvo, and my 01CivicEX. And they were amazing cars appearance wise, and my honda still has the best shine ever.
