Rep Power: 285 it doesnt go by gallons... you wouldnt even need one gallon for a civic..especially a coupe... and thats with like 3-4 coats
car paint is mixed by pints and quarts and fractions of the two it is then added to many additives like reducer, thinner, and bonding agents,
it doesnt always depend on color for how much paint you need because for every color there is a matched shade of primer to help the color stay true and not need like 6 coats.
my car is painted ferrari nero daytona (black) i believe my father used two and a half quarts or so to paint the outside of car and inside engine bay, trunk, door jambs. (i think it was more like three quarts) with about 4 coats of paint and 3 coats of clear

Rep Power: 285 oh and if your changing the color even if its somewhat close in shade... please spend the extra bucks to have them paint inside the door jambs and under the hood and trunk... make sure they do a nice job too cus u dont wanna pop the hood and change your intake one day to find a huge spot of the original color. (ill admit i covered a few spots we missed with a gloss black spray paint...nothin to big)
