I used spray paint from Pep Boys (local automotive shop). I sanded the parts down about 5 times and cleaned the service before painting. I painted 4 coats and then 3 clear coats. Dried overnight and it came out great.

k cool. what do u guys think? would yellow look good? i have an inca pearl coupe, and i have yellow pedals w/silver outline. so im not sure i might switch those to black with silver outline if i do go with silver. but anyways, do u think yellow trim w/black interior and the yellow on silver pedals would look good?

hehe.. i had to check yer gallerie cuz i had no idea what inca pearl was....
ehhhhhhhh... yellow..? mmmm.. no.. check advanced auto parts, pepboys ect. they all carry a lot of color match paint.. advanced was putting up new stuff when i was there today.. get something that matches yer paint..
it may just be the angle.. but yer car is more light butterscotch than "yellow"

ps im sorry you got stuck with those hubbies.. same ones i got stuck with.. the "jetta" style ones are so much nicer

ok i did it... light sanding with 600grit sand paper.. then washed it off with water.. wore rubber gloves so the oil from my hands didnt get all over it..
first i went with just two coats.. but it wasnt enough.. you could see it when light reflected off of it.. but it still looked black.. which was nice.. so i did 4 thin coats of paint two coats of clear.. you can still feel the detail of the plastic.. i think i could do another coat or two of clear but i wanted to still be able to feel the lil details in the plastic..
tomorrow ill finnish it and post some pics..

dunno.. havent gotten that far yet dont quote me on this but i think you just yank out the piece with the lighter thing.. then theres 2 screws on the bottom.. then you just reach up from the bottom and push it out.. from what i can tell by the pics theres 4/6 lil clips that hold the whole unit in place.. *shrug*

you can use hondaautomotiveparts.com to see how stuff goes together..

The guide I used was from here...I used the same colors too..

http://www.speed-society.com/forum/p...tech/page2.php

Love the color, I just gotta redo it because I didn't have the garage available to paint in and I did it in windy *** november....Paint did not go across evenly...It hardly go inside the creavises of the vents.

But I love the color and will redo mine in the spring..I still have to figure out how to remove the center trim though.. *sigh*

yank out the piece around the lighter... you gutta pull real friggin hard.. the look up inside.. you will see one screw.. take that out.. now you can either use a screwdriver wraped in a towel to pry the whole thing lose.. but then you risk damaging the dash..
or.. remove yer headunit.. now you will be able to pop out the piece that it sits in (4 clips.. 2 on top 2 on the bottom).. just put yer hand in the hole and pull.. now you will have a big hole.. give the bottom a good yank.. once it pops out a lil the rest of it will pop out pretty easy..

heres some pics so you can see where the clips are..
the piece around the lighter
the center piece hole
