Removing Rain-X from windshield??
Does anyone know of an chemicals/products to remove Rain-X off the windshield? I am asking this because of the last sticker i had on the windshield came off about 5 months later due to the point that it didnt have much to stick to. No one that i have talked to knows how to remove this stuff.

Ammonia. not. . Windex . .Straight ammonia. . DO NOT breathe it. . If you catch a good whiff you'll know why, because you'll almost fall over. . But it should take it right off.

BTW. . don't get the ammonia on your car and try to keep it off the rubber seals and stuff. Best method is to appy to a towel then to the window. . Don't just dump it. . Use sparingly and after you wash the windows with ammonia, use conventional window cleaner like Windex so that crap doesn't sit on whatever you get it on. Plus you don't want it to rain and have it running all over your car..

Why would you want to remove it. I use the stuff made by Castrol, and it works like a charm. In the winter the windows also dont frost up as fast. Also it wears off eventually.
I am talking about just Rain-X. It is alot easier to put the sticker on the outside of the windshield. And yes it is an actual sticker, has three layers to it. White background and red lettering with black outline.
I will give the ammonia a try. Laquer thinner, degreaser, and rubbing alcohol didnt do a thing. The guy that is making/putting the sticker on says is should easily last 2-3 years if i am able to remove everthing off the glass.

first use some palmolive then use windex. repeat if necessary. I highly suggest not putting goo gone on your wind sheild as it will eat the rubber on the outside and your blades.
try some wax remover maybe? rain-x is advertized as wax for the windshield, so if you have some wax remover, that might be perfect. Something like "back to black," is what I have.
Thanks for more of the tips. Once i find some time i will start trying them. I used the goo gone on a small area away from the rubber and that did nothing also. The Rain-X is mostly silicon so i dont think a wax remover would work. But i will just go down the line and start trying averything posted.
Hey nrrhgreg, is this your car we are talking about? Yeah I didn't think so. So why try to tell me things i shouldn't do to MY own car.
