Splashguards left marks...

I took the splash guards off my car, and the edges left marks on the car. They're not really scratches... more like abrasion/vibration marks, and I can't get them off. I tried paint cleaner and scratch remover (the wax-like stuff) and didn't get too far. Might anything get them off?? I'm thinking about having someone try to buff them off, but don't know if that'll do much either.

VTEC01EX is an unknown quantity at this point
I noticed that around the corners of the front bumper by the wheelwells. I suspect that the paint is just quite a bit thinner there. Mine just looks like it's gray, like the paint just rubbed off. Still smooth and glossy, just not satin silver.

I had the same problem when I removed the door edge guards. Meguiars clear coat body scrub worked quite well.
