Complete Swap from D17a1 to D17a2 need advice

I have a blown non vtec engine and i wanted to know if anynody can help me on what i need to do a complete swap from a non vtec engine to a vtec engine. I have been reading posts about it but i feel like i ran into dead ends. If anybody can help me out with starting point to end on a list of things i need besides the engine. That would be great

The vtec engine will go right in with no additional parts needed.

Then decide if you want to spend money to control the vtec solenoid and either
do it manaually,
buy a aftermarket vtec controller,
or (replace the ECU with correct ECU-get it programmed for your car-change O2 sensor pins- add vtec pins)

Of course i would like to make the vtec work. Would a kpro work? Or a s300? Cause i been looking online for a ecu n no luck

That thread explains how to use a VAFC2. Kpro would require using a donor ECU from a K series vehicle (US Civic Si, Acura RSX). S300 is for older Civics, Integras, and Preludes. There is also a D17 option for Ktuner but it is awfully expensive. Cheapest option is either VAFC2 and original ECU or find a VTEC ECU/harness and reflash keys.
