D17 from JDM

I'm looking to replace the 1.7vtec in my son's 2005 Civic LX. I have little to no knowledge when it comes to this engine. Found one through JDM and was about to purchase when I decided I better do some research first. JDM has a lot of great reviews, but some rrarea bad ones. Doe anyone have any information on JDM or has anyone used one of their engines?

D17A from Japan have VTEC, LX does not. Moved your post to proper section, read around about other's experiences.

ECU is part of the issue (no VTEC controls programmed).
