What is the exact qualifications for this to happen ?? I mean putting the d17a1 on my d17a2 bottom what will I need for parts I have a d17a1 I wanna throw the top end on it and I don't care about limp mode but if any one knows how to by pass vtec some people say wire. A8 to c15 But idk will I need the Ecu from a non vetch motor for the d17a1 top to work on a d17a2 bottom

you can rock an -a1 ecu and use a vtec controller. That's pretty much the advantage to swapping in an -a2 head. That, and the fact that you now have access to drop in cams.
As far as what parts you need... complete -a2 head and a vtec controller.

OP could spend more to get an A1 PCM and have it programmed to run the engine, than it would cost to just get the correct head in the first place. Or a correct whole engine.
Is there some problem that warrants replacing the cylinder head from the original D17A2 engine?
