i have a 02 civic coupe just got it 3 months ago and the motor went in it so i went and got the same one (d17a1 shitty i know)however i am just wondering if i am able to put and d17a2 camshaft in it instead of changing the whole head...the motor is currently apart i cleaned the head...its pretty much new..the block and pistons are beautiful no carbon at all only 87xxx on it...if i have to change the head i will but just wondering if i have to change it or if i can just change the camshaft...thanks for the input

Re: d17a1/a2

You have to have the -a2 head to run the camshaft. Furthermore, you'll need a VTEC controller for the VTEC head, as well
