KTuner v1.2 tune questions

Hello all, hopefully this isn't a stupid question. Is there a definitive list of the canned Ktuner tunes available for the Civic 1.5T and what they do? I've been looking and I haven't found a detailed list. Thanks in advance for the information.

Re: KTuner v1.2 tune questions

From KTuner's website:

[Stage 0 (CVT):
Improved throttle response
Reduced turbo lag
Improved low-end and midrange torque
Smoothed boost curve, 15psi
Producing a much more sporty feel and drivability

Stage 1 (CVT and MT):
Improved throttle response
Removed throttle dampening on low end, better performance off the line
Reduced turbo lag
Improved low-end and midrange torque
Boost raised to 18psi
Producing a much more sporty feel, drivability, and additional top end power!

Stage 2 (CVT and MT):
Improved throttle response
Removed throttle dampening on low end, better performance off the line
Reduced turbo lag with aggressive spool up
Improved low-end and midrange torque
Boost raised to 21psi
Producing a much more sporty feel, drivability, and additional top end power!

Stage 2 Dual Calibration (CVT and MT):
Improved throttle response
Removed throttle dampening on low end, better performance off the line
Reduced turbo lag with aggressive spool up
Improved low-end and midrange torque
Factory boost in ECO mode
Boost raised to 21psi in normal
Producing a much more sporty feel, drivability, and additional top end power!

From personal experience:
  • Factory: Torque targeted, 16.5psi. That means that if torque target is detected, it'll cut boost to not exceed said target. LIterally the factory tune from Honda. From the factory, highest boost I saw was 12-13psi. Note: this is not the same as unlocking the unit and/or flashing back to stock before you take it in to the dealer, as some do
  • +0PSI: 16.5psi, boost target. I guess 15psi, per KTuner. No longer torque target, but now boost target as measured at the MAP sensor. You'll see your promised 16.5psi. I've seen 16.5psi with this tune.
  • +3PSI: 18psi boost target. Dunno why it's called the +3, but that's what it's been referred to as. Same as +0 tune, but boost target is now 18psi.
  • +6PSI: 21psi boost target. Same as above, but 21psi target this time.
  • +6PSI dual calibration: 21psi boost target normally. +0psi tune with eco-mode turbo ramp up and throttle rate limitations.
There are quick adjustments you can make, as well. Throttle response increase, turbo ramp up rates. You can also disable the slower turbo ramp up in eco mode if you wish.

edit: If you purchase the KTuner app license ($5, highly recommended), you can store 5 tunes and flash straight from the app. Only think you cannot do is flash back to stock and unlock the unit. You can even datalog and use it as digital gauges, too, in case you have a Sport like I do with no boost gauge. This boost gauge is more accurate than the one on the fancy digital cluster like in the EX and up models. The one on the EX and up models shows what demanded boost is with given throttle, and not actual per the MAP. That said, it'll say 16.5psi, but highly likely your manifold will be seeing 16.5psi

edit2: I'm so glad to see more members rocking the 10thgen now. Check my signature, I have a good handful of DIYs I've done on mine

Re: KTuner v1.2 tune questions

I know this may be beating a dead horse but is there a way to use the Ktuner to do a custom tune or am I limited to the tunes that come with it?

Re: KTuner v1.2 tune questions

You can facilitate a custom tune, but the safer way is to do tweak the setting you can mess with on the existing tunes or grabbing an off the shelf tune from Phearable (they just released a new tune that boasts 30 more horsepower than their first off the shelf tune), TwoStepPerformance. Both also offer custom e-tuning options if you wanna venture down that route, too. Basically, you flash KTuner, run some datalogs, and they'll make a tune customized to your car
