Gas release cable not working, even with cable repair kit 
I put this plastic piece on the cable, hoping that it would fix the fuel door release problem.
However, the plastic isn't broken, underneath the white cover piece, and looks totally normal.
I attached the metal hook back into the mechanism and tried to open the fuel door, but nothing. No resistance or pressure.

You can pop the cable out of the fuel neck area from inside the trunk. Have someone operate the cable while you watch the end. The factory cable isn't that expensive, just tedious to install.

Got my cable from RockAuto. Detached old cable, attached new cable to old cable and pulled new cable into the car without pulling the entire rear section apart.

Jacket wasn’t attached to anything? I’m about to do the hood release cable and I already saw two zip-tie clips that I have to pull out
